Nesma Airlines is growing, and we're looking for a detail-oriented and analytically minded Flight Operations Engineer to join our team in Cairo. What You'll Be Doing?
In this role, you'll be the technical expert ensuring every flight departs, cruises, and lands safely and efficiently. Your work will directly impact fuel economy, payload planning, and regulatory adherence. No two days will look exactly the same, but here's what you can expect to take ownership of:
- Running performance calculations for takeoff, en-route phases, and landing at diverse airports.
- Validating airport data, including obstacle assessments and operational constraints, to ensure accuracy before flights are planned.
- Evaluating engine-out scenarios and special operational cases using approved performance software.
- Managing aircraft performance data across our Flight Planning and Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) systems.
- Tracking performance degradation and identifying fuel efficiency trends to support cost-saving initiatives.
- Assessing the operational impact of Minimum Equipment List (MEL) items and communicating findings clearly.
- Ensuring weight and balance compliance, keeping center of gravity within safe limits for every departure.
- Contributing to technical documentation and operational manuals with clarity and precision.
- Supporting the induction of new aircraft into our fleet and conducting route studies for new destinations.
- Maintaining strict alignment with both regulatory requirements and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) standards.
What You Bring to the Team?
We're looking for someone with a solid technical foundation and a hunger to learn. Whether you're a recent graduate or have a couple of years under your belt, we want to hear from you.
Essential qualifications include:
- A bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- 0 to 3 years of relevant experience in flight operations or aircraft performance.
- A working knowledge of aircraft performance principles and applicable aviation regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities—you enjoy digging into numbers and finding solutions.
- Excellent computer skills, including comfort with specialized aviation software and standard office tools.
It will give you a head start if you have:
- Familiarity with performance tools such as FlySmart or equivalent software.
- A Basic Maintenance Engineering Course or similar technical training.
