    The U.S. Mission in Cairo, Egypt is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Administrative Assistant. Final grade/step will be determined by Washington. The work schedule for this position is: Full-Time 40 Hours/week.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:

    • The incumbent acts as Administrative Assistant to the US Embassy in Cairo Health Unit (HU).

    • The HU is a major service center for 800 American Embassy employees and their families from 47 U.S. Government agencies, and has regional oversight for 11 regional posts in the Middle East.

    • The incumbent will be the first to greet patients visiting the HU.

    • The critical activities range from welcoming and orienting new arrivals, providing administrative support and assisting with emergency medical care for critically ill patients when needed.

    • The complexities and emotional aspects of the medical and administrative support to personal illnesses in a foreign country require extraordinary energy, talent, and tact, and keen customer service skills are essential.


    Job Requirements

    • Completion of Secondary school is required

    • Two years of Administrative experience is required

    • English, Level IV (fluent), speaking and reading. Applicant must identify English language proficiency level in the application to be eligible for the job

    • Must be able to lift small boxes of supplies. Must be computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word, Outlook and Excel) and Windows operating programs.

    • Excellent knowledge of English grammar and spelling is required.
